Chilling Sensitivity
Storing everything in the refrigerator might not be the right way to maximize some fruits & vegetables shelf life. While storing commodities at lower temperature is a great way to retard microbial growth and prolong shelf life,
some fruits & vegetables are chilling sensitive.
To prevent chilling injury, these fruits/vegetables should not be stored at the range of temperature or below whereby the chance of chilling injury will be increased.
Avocado
🥑 , Kiwi 🥝 , Peaches , Pears should be ripen on the counter prior being stored in the refrigerator.
From the last picture:* Keep potatoes and sweet potatoes in a well ventilated area in the pantry.
Protect potatoes from light exposures to prevent greening.
